When I couldn’t find the perfect fly bonnet for my own horse, I set out to make one myself. After teaching myself to crochet, experimenting with patterns, and refining my technique over time, I created a bonnet that combined the fit, quality, and style I had always wanted. From there, Bascule Bonnets was born.
Inspired by my own goals in the hunter and jumper rings, the name “Bascule Bonnets” reflects the beautiful arc a horse forms over a jump—a picture of balance, elegance, and athleticism. Each bonnet is crocheted with premium 100% mercerized cotton for durability and a smooth, professional finish. The ears are crafted from a soft, breathable 4-way stretch spandex to comfortably fit a range of ear shapes and sizes—even in warmer climates. Soundproof ears are available on many designs as well.
